How Does Surveillance HA Work?
Surveillance HA is a software-only failover solution that supports two configurations for maximum flexibility: Server Cloning and Camera Pairing.
In the Server Cloning failover configuration, the Primary and Secondary servers share the same configuration and form a cluster. To a Management Server, both servers appear as a single machine. In this configuration, both recording servers share the same cameras, frame rates, and resolutions. Only retention periods can vary.
In the Camera Pairing failover configuration, the Primary and Secondary servers maintain completely independent configurations, and can even report to different, federated Management Servers. Surveillance HA connects Smart Clients to the selected camera feed seamlessly via one of two available Recording Servers. This configuration enables support for different cameras, frame rates, resolutions, and retention periods on each recording server.
